This trail description is listed from east to west. Starting off of the northwest corner of the Trestle Trail
, the trail follows portions of a grass road to the small Crossover Trail (East)
. The trail continues straight for a short distance to its junction with the Railroad Wye Trail
. From here, the trail follows the Swift River for 0.6 miles to a junction with the Crossover Trail (West)
. Here there is a bench with excellent views. The trail continues for another 0.7 miles, through a mostly softwood forest, to its end at the northwesternmost tip of the trail system. From here, the Davis Farm Trail
continues left, then left again back to the Trestle Trail
. Together, the Swift River Trail
and the Davis Farm Trail
make an excellent loop.
Flora & Fauna
Eastern hemlock, beech, oak, white pine, maple, and wintergreen grow here. Keep an eye out for juncos, bluejays, and chickadees.
