This moderate trek visits the launch zone for paragliders and has great views too.

Description

This is a good, convenient option if you want more of a workout than the Foothills South Trail provides. From the brushy area next to the southwestern corner of the Wonderland Lake Loop Trail, head west, initially next to a neighborhood. Ascend gently at first through open, grassy fields. The grade increases as the narrow trail bends north next to neat boulders and slabby rock faces.

Upon reaching a flat area, there is an optional viewpoint with a few trees, just a few steps east off the main trail. From here you can enjoy views of Wonderland Lake as well as Flatirons and Bear Peak to the south. Continue north past the Wonderland Hill Expert Glider Access trail over flat terrain. At a trail junction with the Wonderland Hill Ridge Trail, turn east and steeply downhill. Descend the hillside sometimes next to a small ravine, eventually ending at the Foothills South Trail.

Flora & Fauna
