Description

From the overlook along the Wonderland Hill Glider Trail, head west and uphill. The trail threads through some low, rocky outcroppings before settling in for a steep trudge up the grassy hillside. This work is rewarded upon reaching a more level area marked by scattered windsocks and flagged posts. You have arrived at a paraglider launch area.

Find a safe spot, well out of the way to take in the mechanics of this fascinating sport. By catching the thermals here, pilots can rise thousands of feet and travel for miles. Although the large landing area below at Foothills Community Park makes this a popular place to learn, the gusty winds in Colorado are a daunting challenge.

Depart down an eroded and steep route directly to the east. Here the trail surface is loose, so watch your footing. Take breaks so you don't miss the wonderful views from the elevated heights of these scenic foothills. The trail ends as a T-intersection with the Wonderland Hill Glider Trail.
