Description

The Grand Ridge Trail connects the Issaquah-Preston Trail from the south to Duthie Hill Park to the north. The trail is a pleasant hike in either direction.

The bottom of the trail follows a series of snaking switchbacks as it heads away from the Issaquah-Preston Trail to gain the ridge. The climbing continues through dense trees and over a road. The high point is reached at mile two, and the trail follows an easy going descent past two unmaintained trails. Keep left at the first intersection and then right at the second intersection.

Ahead, a short rise leads into a steady half-mile descent that brings hikers over two log bridges before the grade once again mellows out. Before the trail ends, it crosses over a low marshy area on the Mike O Puncheon Bridge and then climbs to the SE Issaquah-Fall City Road just east of the Duthie Hill Parking Area.
