A great loop around Bridle Trails State Park, with rolling hills and green forests.

Overview

This is a great singletrack hike around the outer edges of Bridle Trails State Park. There are lots of other trails to explore if you want to make a longer (or shorter) hike.

Description

This loop begins at the main facilities near the car park. It starts on the Raven Trail for 0.75 miles. The Raven Trail is an easy trail with good markings. From the Raven Trail, take the Raven to Coyote Connector to continue onto the Coyote Trail.

The Coyote Trail rolls steadily up and down, winding through dense, green woods. As the trail skirts the edge of the park, you can see some homes through the woods, but you'll still enjoy a peaceful section through large and stately trees. There are a variety of connecting trails throughout this portion, but most are singletrack so it is easy to stay on the wider, more well-maintained, Coyote Trail.

From the Coyote Trail, you'll continue onto several unnamed trail that hug the eastern edge of the park. Just keep heading south along the edge of the park until the trails rejoin the Coyote Trail about 3 miles in. From here, follow it to the main trailhead where the Raven, Coyote and Trillium trails all intersect.
