Overview

This alternate route to Poo Poo Point is longer, but rewards hikers with a tour of lush evergreen forests and flowing streams. The trail climbs the shoulder of West Tiger Mountain to a great view out over Puget Sound.

Description

The route starts at the Issaquah Alps trailhead, with additional parking found at Issaquah High School. The trail climbs steeply up Tim's Trail before gaining the plateau. Continue on the Adventure Trail across a high point, then descend slightly to the intersection with the Poo Poo Point Trail where the trail passes below powerlines.

The route gradually steepens as you ascend through second-growth forests in the Many Creeks Valley. Through the climb, the trail passes over a couple creeks via wooden bridges. The final climb ascends steep switchbacks up the west shoulder of West Tiger Mountain. Hike down a small hill to attain Poo Poo Point.

Poo Poo Point offers great views out towards Seattle and the greater Puget Sound. Take a break, soak in the views and eat a snack. The point offers a great vantage for sunsets. There are a couple of picnic tables and a Clivus toilet. Once you've enjoyed the view, turn around and head back the way you came.

Mileage and time for one way. Took Chirico trail down. Spikes, poles, snow shoes at higher altitudes recommended. 4.3mi — 2h 23m
