Description

The Cielo Trail starts at the parking lot on Allen Road. The trail is opposite the parking area and enters the woods via a double wide dirt trail. The trail winds the through the woods underneath the shade of the trees. At roughly half a mile, a connector trail breaks off to the right and works its way back to the parking lot via a small trail and road that passes a private residence.

The trail continues straight ahead, and then after another tenth of a mile, a trail breaks off to the right again that leads down to a giant redwood tree. The trail continues to a junction, where there is a gate off to the right at the preserve boundary. The Cielo Trail drops to the left and descends down to the park boundary. Once you reach the end of the trail, you can retrace your steps back to the trailhead.

Flora & Fauna

Deer can be seen in the morning or evening. There are a variety of birds in the forest around you. Various ferns and moss can be seen lining the trails. There are some redwood trees in the area as well.
