Need to Know
Please follow the posted guidelines for the archeological site.
Follow the blue diamonds, interpretive signs, or acorn blazes. This trail starts off Pond Trail
and climbs moderately on a road grade to its crossing of the Lower Bridle Path
. The trail continues its moderate ascent to a small lookout point. I believe the sign said that Peregrine Falcons frequent this lookout.
From the lookout, the trail descends to a dip, then slightly ascends to a hemlock grove. The trail descends over a couple of switchbacks to a 3-way junction. To the right sends you down to the Turtleback Mountain Trail
; forward and left also sends you down to the Turtleback Mountain Trail
. Here, there is also a small path (on the left) to the Witham Cellarhole.
