The parking area is small.
This is a short, easy hike that goes up to Rainbow Falls.
Need to Know
There isn't a fee for parking, but the parking area is limited to only a few cars at a time.
This trail starts off Cummings Hill Road and heads westward, following the Ruth Walter Trail
. It travels along the southern edge of the marsh as it makes it way to the falls. It reaches a nice little cove below Rainbow Falls, where there's a few benches. The trail continues (over a small footbridge) and follows the Newton Trail
. It passes by a few viewpoints, overlooking the marsh. The trail hugs the northern edge of the marsh as it makes it way to the parking area.
Flora & Fauna
Flora: Alders, Blue-Bead Lily, Starflower, Fringed Polygala, Bugle, Dandelions, Dewberries, Honeysuckle.
Fauna: Chipmunks, Mosquitoes, Flies, Swallowtail Butterfly, Bumblebees.
History & Background
This trail passes by Old Stagecoach Road
, which (as the name suggests) was probably an old road.
