Overview

Features: Birding — Lake — Swimming — Views
Family Friendly: A very easy trail with a great kids' park and plenty of opportunities for the kids to get in the water.
Dogs: Leashed

Description

This park is on a little peninsula on Lake Washington. It is a great wooded area with a paved trail surrounding the park as well as several trails going through the wooded areas. There are areas to swim, a great kids park, and lots of places to have a picnic. Many activities start here (such as runs, walks, bike rides) and there is an amphitheater as well so parking can sometimes be challenging. Given that, it is still one of the best places in the city for a hike.

The park hosts at least one pair of nesting Bald Eagles, and some of Seattle's oldest trees. Nov 6, 2017
