Description

While most people will start at the Poia Lake Trailhead near Apikuni Falls, this cutoff trail will save about 2.5 miles from your total distance, but you pay the price in a very steep trail.

The trail starts at the entrance station for Many Glacier and steeply climbs straight up the ridge. At some points, the trail can be touched with your hand in front of you with little effort. The footing is also terrible with many loose rocks. The trail travels through aspen, fir and pine trees with limited views out.

This trail is only recommended to save distance, as taking the Red Gap Pass Trail out features better views and a more friendly grade.
