Overview

This trail provides you with another view of Hidden Lake with much less of the traffic that Hidden Lake trail has. The last half some steep climbs with some moderate rock scrambling. Great views of wildflowers, big horned sheep, and occasionally some mountain goats.

Description

The first half of the trail shares the same route as the Hidden Lake Trail. Then you branch off to follow the trail along a steep edge up to a pass where you get an amazing view of Hidden Lake. You can stop here, or continue on further up to another pass.

Out of the thousands of people who travel on Hidden Lake Trail in the summer, maybe 1% of them turn onto this trail, making it a great way to escape the crowds at one of the busiest places in the park.
