This is a long hike. I carried 2 liters of water on the trail, packed a lunch, and had snacks along the way. During the winter months, it is more difficult to get water at the park.

The Fendley Station Trail is a 17.38-mile loop trail located near Chesterfield, Virginia, in Pocahontas State Park. The trail is wooded with scenic views of a lake and a creek near the end of the trail. The terrain varies throughout the loop, and there is a creek crossing that is not passable most of the year. This route features a beautiful view of Swift Creek Lake and spillway.

In the case of this hike, the parking area I use is near the "powerlines" on Beach Road. If the creek were passable, you could enter the trail and turn left on Fendley and loop all the way around. I would recommend parking on the Courthouse Road parking area closest to the spillway and then have someone drive you to the powerline parking area to begin your hike. Otherwise, it's a long way back to your car!
