Description

This 0.9-mile trail leads you up from the Overnight Backpacker’s Lot to the Appalachian Trail where you can choose to go northbound towards the Wise Shelter or southbound towards the Mount Rogers Summit Trail. The point where the trail meets up with the AT is an open meadow that has nice views and a great opportunity to find wild ponies grazing.

This short trail takes you from the overnight hikers parking lot to the AT. I ran into groups of ponies and was able to snack on some wold berries. 0.8mi
