Description

This trail climbs from the Appalachian Trail (AT) near Thomas Knob shelter to the summit of Mount Rogers, highest point in Virginia. The trail initially passes through the mountain bald and enters the spruce - fir forest about 0.25 miles up the trail. The summit is marked by benchmark monument embedded in a boulder at the summit. There are no views from the summit.
