Laurel Lake is not great in itself, but 3 miles of somewhat-difficult, off-trail hiking leads to great lakes in Kendrick Canyon.

It is incredibly difficult to get around the east side of Kibbie Lake from where the trail drops you.

Kibbie Lake is reachable in early spring/summer, but expect lots of mosquitos. Get here in August for hot weather that makes for phenomenal swimming.
