The last of the meadows. At 6.5 miles, the trail enters "The Roughs", the narrow canyon at the end of the flat area. Eagle Peak and Victoria Peak are on the left, with the Flatiron Ridge on the right.

At about 2.8 miles, Buckeye Canyon turns and we get our first views of the rugged granite mountains at the end of the canyon. There are flowers everywhere. Here it is mule ears and lupin. Not visible are fields of iris that have passed their peak
