Description

The Daniels pass trail connects Gold Camp Road with N. Cheyenne Canyon in a long steady descent (or ascent the other way). The Daniels Pass trail was completely rebuilt in 2021. This is no longer a "difficult" trail. If hiking, it is moderate only because of the elevation gain. The trail itself is in fine condition. The old, insanely steep and loose lower section has been replaced by moderately steep but well graded switchbacks. There is a bridge over the creek at the bottom, and there is more parking than there used to be at the Daniels Pass trailhead. The trail is part of a larger system of new trails that includes the Bruin Trail and the Sweetwater Canyon Trail.
