Starting at a picnic area on the south side of the lake, this trail drops down to the main loop. Following the loop right will take you to the Orange Trail merged section that heads down to a creek crossing and back up on the other side. Once the trail forks off the Orange Trail to the left, you'll hike along a fairly level path with small creek crossings.

This trail will eventually open to a creek embankment next to the Blue Trail East before veering off to the left and up an incline through a short switchback to the loop start. This trail has a few ground obstacles to watch for.
