Description

Starting at the trailhead, head up the hill; immediately you'll feel the crunch, but don't worry after it is over you have about a mile to rest your legs! Little more than a half mile in you'll come across the State Park restaurant, make note if you return! Past the restaurant, you'll enter the forest in earnest now, some of which is still recovering. You'll pass the campground and then the final assault on your quads begins, but press on and in less than a half mile you'll see the most beautiful views on the blue ridge, as well as having reached the highest point in the eastern US!

Flora & Fauna

Ferns, wildflowers, conifers and mixed hardwood.
