Description

This particular trail can begin in a number of locations, but the most available parking is located in front of the Oak Point Nature Preserve Retreat Center. From there, you have direct access to a visitor center, pavilions, restrooms, a small lake, as well as the jumping off point for several of the dirt tracks.

This trail runs the full length of the preserve from north to south with very little elevation gain throughout. The preserve is bordered on the south by another large park, Bob Woodruff, that can be reached via this path.

The trail follows the wooded outskirts of Rowlett Creek with a variety of large fields on the opposite side. The sheer size of this 800-acre preserve creates a wonderful sense of solitude and connection with nature.

Flora & Fauna

As a nature preserve, you can expect to see plenty of local wildlife, including those that slither, as well as plenty of opportunities for bird viewing.
