Features Wildlife

No hunting allowed in park. Hewen's Creek Park is open dawn to dusk. There is a small parking lot at the trail-head with four or five spots and no fee for entrance.

Hikers should hike in the opposite direction of mountain bikers. This can be done by looking for marked trees on the trail; marked trees have a stenciled number facing riders and a red mark on the other side of the tree indicating the wrong direction.

Description

This loop twists through an old field that is transitioning to a young forest. Some areas can be wet after a heavy rain and it is probably best to avoid this trail in early spring and after big downpours. If you hike quietly you'll probably hear and maybe see wildlife.
