Description

You can access this trail with mass transportation from NYC via the Shortline Bus to Bear Mountain. The bus stops at the Lodge. From the lodge, hike south to the southern end of the parking areas.

The trail will have blue blazes, and shares the initial route with a red blazed trail. Follow the trail through some thick forest until it dumps onto a road - this is very brief so keep an eye out for where the trail goes back into the forest. There is a stream and small waterfall here as well. The trail will begin to climb along the Timp Brook. The trail leaves the brook and begins to climb a little steeper until you reach the end at the red-blazed Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail.
