This is an easy hike kids will enjoy, and an ideal place to propose. The flat grass-less peak makes it a perfect place to set up a picnic, or simply roll out a blanket and bask in the sun.
Hike up Turkey Hill to get a beautiful view of the vast landscape of Harriman State Park.
Locate the trailhead towards the end of the parking lot. The trail starts out mostly flat, but later turns rocky; nevertheless, it's a pretty easy hike up the hill. The entire route follows the Long Path. At around 0.3 miles, there's an intersection with the Popolopen Gorge Trail
, but continue on the Long Path. After around a half a mile, the trail turns right, then immediately turns sharply left going up Turkey Hill. The summit offers a beautiful vista of Turkey Pond Lake, Bear Mountain, and West Point.
