Description

The Barranca Crossing Trailhead is located off of Barranca Road between Loma del Escolar and Dos Brazos streets in a residential neighborhood in northeastern Los Alamos County. Traveling south from Barranca Road provides access to the Bayo Bench Trail. Heading north from Barranca Road leads directly to the Rendija Canyon Trailhead and Pajarito Trail #286.

Parking on Barranca Road is allowed, but this is a heavily used street, so care is required when exiting vehicles. There is no obvious trail signage to the north, but there is a brown "Carsonite" fiberglass composite trail marker (1/4" x 3" wide x ~40" high) on the south side of Barranca Road.
