Description

Robin's Trail follows New Hope Creek through Johnston Mill Nature Preserve and links to both parking areas. Robin's Trail has junctions with Bluebird Trail, Old Field Bluff Trail, and the Beech Loop, giving hikers access to the trails that traverse the Preserve.

As Robin's Trail meanders through New Hope Creek's floodplain, many wildflowers, especially spring ephemerals, abound from March to May. Additionally, visitors can see the remains of two old mills and a raceway along New Hope Creek. Whether you are looking for birds, trees, flowers, or for a peaceful place to sit and watch the river, Robin's Trail can provide it all.

Flora & Fauna

Numerous species of spring ephemerals and other wildflowers can be found along Robin's Trail in the floodplain of New Hope Creek, including trout lilies, spring beauties, dwarf crested irises, jack-in-the-pulpit, and atamasco lilies.

When you hike in from the parking area on the Robin's Trail, take a short spur on the left to a beautiful creek overlook with bench. It's a great place to think and rest!
