Family Friendly Short, but scenic, kids will love being on the lookout for wildlife along this trail.

Pets in the park must be restrained at all times, and are not permitted in park buildings, on trails, or in the backcountry. Be aware that dogs can agitate bison and other animals, creating a dangerous situation.

Description

There are signs for the trail on the park road and there is limited parking on the side of the road at the trailhead. This nature trail has moderate to steep grades, as well as some flat sections. Some stairs are scattered along the trail in places where erosion would otherwise occur. The farthest point from the trailhead provides fantastic views of the ravines below as well as surrounding hill tops. It would be a good spot to scan the park with binoculars looking for wildlife.

Flora & Fauna

Bison, wild horses, juniper, native prairie grasses and wildflowers.
