The park closes at sundown.

Description

The major trails in this area are blazed, minor trails are not. The vegetation is sometimes overgrown here, especially in later summer. Most trails can be used in both directions. The section that parallels the Allegheny River is on the ridge, so be careful.

There are plenty of parking opportunities and you can drop in on trails in numerous places. The park has running water except during the winter months.

Red blaze trail is nicer when hiking in a counter-clockwise direction, as the downhills are longer and mellower. Many other trails that connect to this one so you can string loops for a longer hike.

Mostly a mix hardwood forest, some areas of evergreens, and an occasional field.

Nice hike. Trail could use some maintenance in a few spots: tall weeds, mud, etc. Very quiet park. Nice views of river. 5.4mi — 2h 25m
