Description

The North Puyallup route connects Klapache Point with the Wonderland Trail. Starting from the far northern end of the Westside Road at Klapache Point, head east along the northern flank of the impressive Klapache Ridge. Descend at a gentle, consistent contour through the woods. Cross numerous streams which feed into the North Puyallup River in the valley below. Just when you think you'll finally reach this river, the trail begins to ascend the hillside before turning sharply north to join the Wonderland Trail.

Historical note: apparently the original plan was for Westside Road to reach Mowiich Lake but construction was stopped in the 1930's after reaching Klapache Point because the road kept washing out at Tahoma Creek.
