Need to Know

Free parking and close to downtown Parkville - a wonderful town to spend an afternoon.

Description

Nestled between Park University and the Riss Lake dam, this is the quickest route to one of the few waterfalls in the Kansas City area. Just past the waterfall, travel along a boardwalk to an overlook, and onward up a small hill to the Girl Scout Cabin at the top.

A short downhill brings you back to the feeder road. The trail is almost entirely made up of either crushed gravel or wood chips, so it holds up well after a rain, and lots of trees provide shade on a hot day.

Flora & Fauna

Several birds, squirrels and deer
