Ski passes are required (for skiers during the winter). The trails are not maintained for summer use. This trail is for winter use only when snow covered.

Description

From the northern terminus of this trail, it travels southward over Forest Service Road 623. It passes Kellogg Trail (on the left), as it continues to climb. It passes a landing just before coming to the unsigned top of Winneweta Falls Trail (#48). The trail continues straight and becomes more challenging, as the rocks amass within the trail. Around the 3-mile mark, the trail takes a sharp right turn through an area heavy with sedges. The trail descends to Maple Mountain Loop, then takes a sharp left (downhill). It descends down the western slopes of Popple Mountain and ties in with Forest Service Road 325. The trail runs down this road to the gate.

Flora & Fauna

Flora: Eastern Hemlock, Hobblebush.
Fungi: Lobster Mushrooms.
