Description

This trail starts at the northern trailhead of the park. The parking lot is small with only enough space for six or seven cars. The trail starts off as a wide, well-maintained carriage road. After about a half mile, you'll come to a junction with the yellow-blazed Stillman Trail branching to the left.

Follow the Stillman Trail as it ascends the front of Storm King Mountain. This section is very difficult, narrow and steep, and you'll want to use caution if recent rain has made the rocks slippery. You'll eventually reach the top of Storm King where you can enjoy some incredible views. The Stillman Trail then makes a sharp right turn to the other side of the mountain and descends.

You'll eventually reach a trail junction with the Howell Trail on the left and the Stillman Trail turning right. Stay on Stillman a short way until you reach another junction with the Bluebird Trail (blue/red markers).
