Description
This trail can be accessed in many different locations throughout the state park and campground.
Beginning at the north side of the lake near the playground/picnic area, the trail moves clockwise and follows closely along the shoreline. It runs into one of the paved park roads on the western side, where there is an open, grassy length of shore perfect for casting a line. Beyond this, there is another picnic shelter with trash containers and a hand pump for water.
Two other trails run into the
Lake Trail along its south side, the
Upper Cabin Access Trail (red blazes) and the
Creek Connector Trail (red blazes).
On the east side of the lake, the trail crosses over a creek by way of a small foot bridge. The surrounding area is lower and marsh-like, meaning that the trail can be muddy during springtime and wet conditions.
Nearing the end of the trail, it passes by campsites, more fishing areas, a bathhouse, parking lot, and the designated swimming beach.
Flora & Fauna
