Description

Park in the small area along the north side of the road then follow the forest road north. You'll cross
two gas pipeline cuts in the first half mile, neither particularly offensive. Keep an eye out for the USFS signs on the opposite side of each cut.

The trail then rolls along the ridge to the "peak". You'll find some dinner table sized rocks, just past the peak on the left (south) side of the trail. These are the Hominy Mortars, rumored to be a place where natives ground corn, but likely just some neat holes in the rocks. Turn around and follow the trail back for a 3.5+/- mile total. Note the long views are going to be primarily seasonal while the leaves are down.

This is the link to the USFS pamphlet, which also describes the south section of the trail.

Fairly easy hike. Couple steep hills to climb (surprising for IN). No water crossings for dogs. 3.5mi
