Description

This trail is comprised of a scenic climb up to the summit of Mt. Muscoco (8,020') off the Mt. Cutler Trail. Transitioning between south-facing and north-facing aspects, this one winds and climbs in and out of sun and shade. Along the first stretch, look south toward the Seven Falls area and the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun monument.

Continue up the trail, taking care at the loose sections of decomposed granite. After a mile on this trail, you'll notice an increase in grade as you near the final few switchbacks toward the summit.

From the top, explore the granite outcropping with views out toward Section 16/Palmer Loop, Gold Camp Rd., and St. Mary Falls Trail.

I like the new trail. The old one was harder to do, but the set path is a great. The view at the top is so beautiful. 6mi
