Access this trail via the Fishing Loop Trail, the Woodland Loop, and the Woodland Loop/Bridge Loop Connector Trail. This trail is in the Missouri River State Natural Area which is managed by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with the ND Department of Transportation, Morton County Parks and the City of Mandan.

The trail provides a forest experience that is not very common in North Dakota. It is open for mountain biking as well.
