Family Friendly It is a very easy trail and has nice views of the Missouri River.

Camping is strictly prohibited, no campfires allowed, no hunting allowed.

Description

Access the trail from the Fishing Loop Trail. This trail continues through the Missouri River State Natural Area which is managed by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with the ND Department of Transportation, Morton County Parks and the City of Mandan.

The trail is quite flat and easy, sandy in spots. There is plenty of attractive scenery, but you can hear the nearby Interstate traffic which prevents you from feeling like you've truly escaped the city.

The trail is a popular place for dog walking and is open to mountain biking and cross-country skiing, so be alert for other trail users.

Flora & Fauna

White-tailed deer, cottonwoods, and a variety of birds.
