Description
This multi-use paved path is often packed in the summer with tourists getting shuttled up to Vail Pass and ambling down to either Frisco, Keystone, or Breckenridge. All of those are excellent activities, but the path is also crowded with locals getting a solid workout by going up and down, so expect a crowd. Consider arranging for a shuttle to take you to the top, then hike down.
From the Vail Pass parking area, quickly dive under one branch of the freeway and meander between the two branches most of the way. There's a lot of space in here, and you actually can't tell the freeway is around you much of the time. Follow the West Tenmile Creek with great views of the Ten Mile Range of mountains and Copper Mountain ski area.
Keep an eye out for a few sharp corners, and a lot of people sharing the trail! Once you hit the Copper resort area, pick up the shuttle that you have pre-arranged or retrace your steps. This recreation path also continues on to Breckenridge or Frisco if you have the energy!
Bikes are allowed on this path.
