Description

This is a pretty consistently steep trail that leads to Sandbeach Lake in a mainly forested section of Wild Basin. The first portion of the trail climbs quickly to just below the ridgeline and follows the ridge until just before Campers Creek backcountry campsite.

You'll eventually cross Campers Creek, and follow close to Hunters Creek, and then head up towards Sandbeach Lake. The last push before the lake is somewhat steep but this last little push is worth it for the amazing views at the lake.

Take your time to appreciate the alpine lake, and maybe dip your toes in its icy water. Once you have had your fill of this spectacular area, head back the same way back to your car.

This is about two miles going up the trail to the lake.

Nice contrast, this is about where the fall color stops, the rest is mostly evergreen.

2 days, 1 night. Amazing scenery and such a great hike to do with anyone and a great place to go out into the backcountry for a couple days

Compacted snow along much of the trail makes for challenging footing. Deep postholing near the lake. 8.8mi — 4h 27m
