Description

Chasm Lake is one of the most beautiful high alpine lakes in RMNP. Set in a stunning cirque below Mt. Lady Washington (13,281') and Longs Peak (14,259') at an elevation of ~11,900 feet, Chasm Lake would make a giant feel small.

Also towering over the lake, part of Longs Peak is The Diamond, an uber-famous climbing route and stunning geologic feature.

All-Day Hike: A strenuous +8-mile round-trip hike. Follow the guidance offered in the Chasm Lake Hike.

Majestic view looking up 2500' to the Summit of Longs Peak's Diamond face, Mount Meeker, and Mount Lady Washington. Awesome experience, worth a hike!

Snowy, Fallen Trees: 100 trees over trail to the falls--made it within a mile of lake, but trees, snow, and unclear water crossing forced us back.
