Description

Take a stroll at the top of the world! This short, paved trail offers most visitors the unique opportunity to experience the high alpine environment first-hand, without the hours of hiking normally necessary to achieve such elevation. The path leads through a frail tundra ecosystem and features panoramic vistas.

On the Road: Drive west on US 34 out of Estes Park or east out of Grand Lake to the Tundra Communities TH.

Family Friendly: This path was designed to be accessible to all ages/fitness levels. At an elevation of +12,000 feet, be prepared to be short of breath!

Biting wind up on the tundra, but views are worth the hike.

Engaging 1/2 mile paved hike above 12,000 feet on the tundra plain. Plenty of signs about the tundra along the trail. Recommended.
