Need to Know

The parking at the start is small. Maybe getting 5 vehicles in, at best. I can believe it fills on summer weekends.

There is hunting in the area. It is recommended, by a sign at the start, to wear blaze orange during hunting season. I've recommended that hunters be required to pass a test identifying a human and a deer before the granting of a hunting license, but I was ignored and told the responsibility to not be mistaken for a 12 point buck is on me, so, yeah, take that into consideration when running in fall.

Description

This is a typical gravel forest road that is gated off and used primarily for hiking, running, and mountain biking. It offers some decent elevation gain and a lot of opportunities to add significant mileage by continuing south or heading to the eastern side of the game lands toward Cold Mountain Trail and the Art Loeb Trail.

The footing can be a bit unstable but is generally solid.
