Need to Know

Conditions in winter may be slippery.

Description

This trail is the only way to view the ruins of Navajo National Monument without taking a guided tour. This trail is also much shorter and easier than those tours. From the visitor center exit simply head out the back and bare right at the dinosaur tracks exhibit. After that it's a straight hike along the canyon rim past signs explaining the history of the people who lived here. After only 0.5 miles you come to the main view point.

Flora & Fauna

A number of trees and plants grow along the trail along with explanations of how the locals tribes utilized them.
