Need to Know

The snow doesn't fully melt on the trail until late June or early July. There is another trail on the south side of the top of the mountain that is slightly easier.

Description

This is a more advanced version of Flattop Mountain Trail. This trail is easily accessible from the Canyon Rd. trailhead. It starts out briefly in the trees, but quickly breaks out into low level brush. The first section of the trail is fairly new and well marked with easy switchbacks. The trail then veers east and goes strait up the gully. The trail will go into switchbacks towards the top and then wind through large boulders. The trail can be slippery in the rain or spring conditions.

Flora & Fauna

Sheep, bears, moose.
