Need to Know

Snowmobile maps can be purchased at the Washington General Store.

Description

Follow the blue blazes. From the playground, follow the road past the bathrooms and campsites 33 and 35. The road turns right and runs into a gate. Bear Pond Trail starts at the gate and follows the road.

This trail passes by the northwest side of Mill Pond to the junction with Five Summers Trail. Here, Five Summers Trail turns left and Bear Pond Trail continues straight. The trail passes a small beaver pond (on the left), then begins to climb more steeply. The trail passes Bear Pond (on the right) and continues to climb. The trail climbs to its end at the Monadnock - Sunapee Greenway.

Here, at this junction, is basically the edge of Pillsbury State Park. Left on the M-S G will take you to the Five Summers Trail. Right on the M-S G will take you to Ridge Link. If you continue straight onto the snowmobile trail, you'll probably need the local snowmobile map. While the Pillsbury State Park map shows a little of the snowmobile trails, it is better to have the proper map.
