Description

This is perhaps the most popular way back down from an Aspen Vista hike (other than right back down Aspen Vista). The trail gets its name from the ski run that it resides on. It's not a trail that can be found on many maps, but it is clearly defined. It starts just southwest of where the triple chair unloads off of Aspen Vista.

Just to the south is the start of the rudimentary Tesuque Creek Trail. Gayway descends straight down the ski run without any switchbacks. The trail is very steep but otherwise uneventful.

Soon you'll get to a service road for the power lines up above. Follow the road to the unloading station for the quad chair. Here you'll find Alamo Vista and can continue your steep descent to the bottom.
