Starting from the Climber's Bivouac Trailhead, this trail follows a mixed tread through beautiful pine forest on the way to either continue up the Monitor Ridge Climbing Route or take a detour onto the Loowit Trail. If you're looking to spend a day in the forest on the south side of the volcano, this is a great option. However, heading any higher up the volcano from the trail junction requires a climbing permit.
