Family Friendly This trail is short, and kids will love the chance to admire the tough horseshoe crabs that make their home here.

Open dawn to dusk. Parking for up to four cars.

Description

This loop ventures through the Shore Road Preserve, which is owned and managed by the North Shore Land Alliance.

Long-term residents of the area will recognize this area as a former Exxon Mobil fueling site. However, recent restorations have turned this area into a thriving grassland with shoreline, and the area is now protected for public use.

This beach is an important nesting site for horseshoe crabs, making it a fun destination for visitors who want to see these prehistoric animals up close.

Flora & Fauna

Visitors will see many beach-going critters, but horseshoe crabs are the highlight.
