Family Friendly For older kids who can make the full distance, they will enjoy the lake at the end. Otherwise, take the younger kids on the first section of the trail which is not too steep.

Description

This trail was recently recreated by decommissioning an old forest logging road into a well-built and scenic trail. The trailhead is about 1/4 mile past the Mailbox Peak parking lot and has its own parking area for about 6 cars. The first portion of the trail is a gradual grade as it follows the old logging road. A nice wooden bridge spans Granite Creek. The trail affords views Mt. Teneriffe, Green Mtn. Bessemer Mtn, the Haystack on Mt. Si, Rattlesnake Mtn among others.
