Early 02:00 am start with beautiful sunrise views from 12,000' by 06:30. Extremely windy and rapidly changing conditions at the top of the trail.

Majestic view looking up 2500' to the Summit of Longs Peak's Diamond face, Mount Meeker, and Mount Lady Washington. Awesome experience, worth a hike!

Farther up near Loch Lake and beyond, the trails are less traveled and wet with some icy patches even in summer. Spectacular glacier lake scenery.

A nice trail up Glacier Gorge, passing Alberta Falls on the way to Andrews Glacier. Great waterfall views and some wildflowers, scenic alpine lakes.

Beyond the Alpine Brook past the tree line at above 11,500' there was still snow and icy conditions, even mid-summer. I chose to not go any farther.
